Life has been a little more busy than usual since last weekend. We finished recording the 3rd song for the 2nd EP and I really didn't expect the session to be that long. I am not sure how the recording turned out to be....(cuz it's not exactly what I wanted, but I can't say it was bad either...hum....) Weekend was shortened by one hour on Sun because of the time change. I guess the weekend just kinda felt short to me over all.
I have been teaching a little more for the past few days as well. I tried to put students in the 1st three days of this week cuz we are actually flying to Washington DC tonight. (Skipping the ones I don't feel like teaching of course...lol...) Edward gave me this coupon on Virgin airline end of last year, and I was able to book two tickets for the price of one. This trip was decided before I got my greencard and went back to TW so it feels like we have been traveling a lot in a short period of time.
It looks like the weather in DC is not ideal for the coming few days. It will even rain if the weather report is true. I guess it's just gonna feel a lot colder than LA. We are praying for the weather to be better than expected, but I guess rain is ok too....just a diff. type of experience. Hades has also been scratching and biting himself starting from last week. I hope he will be alright while we are gone too...Ok...I may just be worrying too much, and should really get to pack right now before I teach in a few hours...

Laugh of the day.....
Few interesting things happened today. # 1.....I was having such a hard time sleeping last night. At 1st I thought it was caused by Hades' abnormal behavior of waking up so many times through the night (+ scratching everywhere), but when I walked out of the room and saw my cup from last night I realized the trouble maker was the air borne I had after dinner.
I also woke up with this weird dream where I was eating a lot of creative and tasty Japanese food. I think I was dreaming those because Billy is all into making Japanese meals at home. Oddly enough grandma from Tainan was eating with us...so I guess it's at Taiwan?
When I opened my e-mails I saw this mileage summary from Eva airline on the trip we just took back in Feb. What perplexed me was that we had the trips listed but the increase of mileage was 0. I called their numbers (the 1-800 numbers never works...just in case anyone needs to try...call the 310 one :p) and was told that our tickets were purchased as promotional tickets so we don't get any mileages. Well....That is that...
I opened my facebook and saw that Catherine (Ivy's sister) added me on her facebook. I was quite surprised that she has my e-mail. That was not the interesting part though. I saw whole bunch of pictures uploaded by her, and noticed that I recognized some people in her photos. That was kinda interesting, but still cannot beat what I saw on her "about Me" section....This is what she put : "sweet + sensitive + spontaneous+ sentimental + simple + sophisticated = severe conflict !@#$*&% :)" I was quite "surprised" that she didn't put "smart" there...lol...I guess this is an inside joke for those of us who knew Jxx was going after her...the smart girl...Ok....I am self entertained enough I should stop now....hahahahahaha
P.S. I just accidentally bumped into this show by 陳文茜 on the TV min ago, and cannot stop myself from coming back to this blog to write this since we are talking about laugh of the day here. She started the show by saying "People left messages on our website asking why I am wearing sun glasses when I host this show. Thanks for all your concerns, and I just have to let you know that I have been near sighted ever since I was in 3rd grade." I just couldn't believe my ears when she said that, and couldn't help thinking "what an idiot....If being near sighted is the reason why people wear sun glasses, then I guess you would see whole bunch of people wearing sun glasses in dark places such as museums....just so they can see things 'clearly'...."

Home made food....once again :)
I was gonna put this blog on tomorrow, but then decided to do it today cuz I probably won't have time tomorrow....It's really not that imp what I m writing here, but just want to make a note and show more photos of home made food by Billy.
The story here is.....We went to Mitsuwa (Japanese market) this afternoon to see if anything was good to buy, and then all of a sudden Billy wanted to try and make sushi at home. I guess he just couldn't let the Japanese table mats we got last week sit at home without putting them to use. I guess it wasn't all that bad, and I am sure he successfully put a little more weight on me once again.....just like every time when he cooks during weekend....:)
This is how messy the counter looked like when we were preparing the materials....and Hades was waiting very patiently for the food.....The bamboo thingy is what we got last Sun.

I cooked the rice, and made the simple tofu skin ones...and the rest is all by Billy. The egg one was not bad at all :) The 2nd pic here is a diff. roll with diff. materials. They look kinda loose...but later ones he made were better...

Some instant miso soup....just to make the whole meal complete...:p

Some photos....
Well.....kinda got tired and lazy for writing my blogs so I decided to just put some photos here...The photos which don't really fall into any specific group or trip...
This is what happened to my V-day flowers...I threw all the lilies (which I hate) away and put the dried roses back into the basket with the two birds we had left from the orchids Billy's mom gave us long time ago....yeah most of the orchids died...lol...I personally thought I made good use of the dead roses :p

Here is of course my handsome cat posing for photos again...and later he got too tired of posing so he was acting dead....

Here are photos of my martini and a berry-ish dessert we had after we had dinner with Jack and Nancy.

Cindy came back from Iraq past week so we had dinner at Buca to celebrate her BD which happens to be today....It seems like my life is full of meals with diff. friends who come and go from LA....

Integrity? Flexibility? Who are we lying here?
We were discussing about integrity vs. flexibility last night, and apparently got too deep into the discussion I couldn't stop my brain from spinning for the whole night again. I guess we all adapted some ways of thinking from our environment and who we were with at certain times that each one of us may come up with very diff. definition of terminologies.
I am probably mixing up my "integrity" term more with loyalty, morality, and some personal feelings. On the other hand, "flexibility" sometimes surfaces to me as something that people- pleasers use to get things they want, which becomes more related to "sneaky" in some ways. I have worked with plenty of people who claim themselves to be "flexible", but in fact don't care about lying their ways to get where they want to be. Often times "flexible" people are good at using diff. standards with things, and picking whichever one that benefits them at a given moment.
I personally don't usually have a problem saying "no" to things if I feel I cannot convince my own integrity....(but again I guess whatever I think is integrity may not seem like anything imp to others....which I actually understand and just let it be)...To me, helping someone who I know is stealing would not be in agreement with my integrity. Saying "wow you look so nice" when I in fact think the person is ugly would not really work....and I certainly would not play for someone's wedding if I actually dislike the bride....Now....that seems to be conflicting with our bible teaching of "love one another" right? But then....what is really the definition of love? We love more by lying? by forcing ourselves to believe things we don't believe? doing things we aren't doing with sincerity? It really perplexes me...
However, those "chicken feather garlic skin" kinda things would be easy for people to consider me rigid, full of myself, and hard to deal with....(especially lacking of flexibility). For as far as I am concerned....I don't really care a damn about any people who aren't directly or indirectly connected to my personal life. If you are a stranger, you can be as flexible as you want (even with whole bunch of integrity at the same time if you want). You can probably rob a bank to support your ministry as long as you are not getting caught and God is not punishing you at that given moment....It really does not make a difference in my life....but as for me...There are things I would not do and there are things I would make clear...and that is that....
Am I being harsh with stuff I am saying? Well...my flexible self can take it...but maybe not other people...so who is really the flexible one here? My arranger Scott once told me "e-mail, although convenient, does not convey the true emotions at times" I am gonna borrow that and say "blogs...(or anything you can see or observe from the outside)...may appear to be whatever people are describing, but turn out to be a box of chocolate....cuz you never know what you get at the end..." Yes...my dark side does seem to be taking over and since I don't like Sawyer any more I better put it to rest with a cup of coffee and Psalms.....

Ups and Downs....
Gilbert was telling me that his dog died today...and that really got me depressed. His dog was 14 years old, and all of a sudden started bleeding and vomiting few days ago. He took the dog to the vet and then they told him the dog was too old to recover by himself. They decided to put the dog to sleep so he didn't have to suffer any more....
At 1st Gilbert thought it's just a dog, but after the doc told him how bad it was he suddenly had to face the fact that he is losing something that grew up with him. I think this is how attachment is....When you are attached to something, someone, or even your pets.....you will really feel depressed when that something you are attached to leaves. Recently I have been thinking about getting another cat before Hades dies so I won't be dysfunctional when he leaves me......but then I really don't think Hades is gonna like that....Man...I really dread the day.....sighs...
I was watching Nancy's skydiving video cuz she uploaded to website. I was quite entertained on how her voice became a lot higher than usual. Apparently she was a lot more hyper than the normal her. I thought she really celebrated her 30th BD to the fullest by doing it and the continuous celebration of friends. It never occurred to me that 30th is really a big thing that one should celebrate until few friends told me so. In this case I guess my BD was quite boring and I didn't really make a good use of it...Maybe I should plan something exciting to make up for it since my other BDs will probably not be anything diff. than the one I just had? Nancy's crazy celebration week surely got me thinking....hum...

My weird thoughts once again....
Recently I have been thinking about personalities....and realized how hard it is for someone to change/modify their personalities if they cannot figure out what the problems are. I have friends who are so into their own little world they would wish for everything they want but never work on it. I have friends who are so afraid of admitting what they really want they have to appear nice and polite to everyone on the outside. I know people who don't really want much at all in life thus everyday becomes a boring day. As for me, I consistently struggle between wanting and giving up with my contradictions in diff. aspects of personality my days go up and down from day to day.
I have always admired those who want something so they go out and get it....it does not matter if we are talking about career, reputation, relationships, etc. Those people may be annoying as hell, but I guess I still admire them for their courage. I guess doers are just a little more pleasant than talker at times. I think I am still training myself to make decisions in life and then just go for it instead of just thinking about them. I wonder why people consider me as an aggressive person growing up? maybe it's because when I have finally come to a decision at the end I just couldn't care less about the outcome of my actions? I wonder if anyone actually sees how much time I spent to come to a final decision? I guess being secretive most of the time does not really help for people to see the whole process?
I was telling Jay this morning how Louie came to deliver his wedding invitation over the weekend. Louie went : "I may need you guys to help out at the wedding", and I went "sure but I am not playing violin at the wedding." I guess he was shocked at my direct and super quick reply, but then I guess it was kinda hard for him to tell how much time I actually spent thinking about how to carry out that line. I was joking with Jay and told him "dude....I guess I couldn't find a better way of saying it cuz I can't tell him 'look...if you are marrying someone else I would love to play for you'..." Sometimes no explanation is probably the best way to do things? I thought about telling Louie this "I don't really play for friends unless we are super close"....but then...I know that is not gonna be true and I don't want to cut my own "back road". I guess it's never easy when one has strong preference over things? cuz no matter how neutral one with things, other people can always read you wrong....
So....personalities....I guess it's fun to analyze everyone and all....but what it comes to at the end is....You take your picks with whoever you hang out with cuz at the end you really can't do much about others' personalities. They are really developed over a long period of time, and we are no God to alter much at all....
