Update on the house by March 28th....

Ok....some updates on the house.....It's going quite slow....but going....Tiles are put into kitchen and bathrooms now. The tiles in kitchen are not grouted yet, but the ones in the 1st bathroom are...We also painted both the kitchen and the 1st bathroom last week, and the range hood Billy's aunt gave us as a house warming gift is already installed. :)

It's really hard to imagine how long this painting project is going...here is what we did for the past week plus weekend. We put two coats of primer on dining room and the hallway cuz those were dark colors before so one coat of primer would not cut it. Two coats really took too much time....much more than I would like....:p SO I guess we will be able to actually put some color on dining room and hallway....hopefully soon....Billy wants to do ceiling 1st, so we will see....


The toilet in the 1st bathroom was installed last Thurs. Now we can finally use the toilet while we work....a lot more convenient I tell you....even though there is no door right now at least we can use the bathroom when there is no "outsiders" working around here....

The closet Peter is building in our bedroom is almost dry now...hopefully he won't have to work on that much longer...Oh he pit lights in the closet so it's actually quite cool, but you can't tell from the photo now...

Over the weekend we painted the laundry room and the 2nd bathroom cuz hopefully the dryer and washers will be delivered and installed this week. Here is a photo of Billy painting inside of the shower....remember the ugly green? It's all gone now after we reglazed the bathroom. However...I didn't really like how the reglaze went and also the white was just way too white I think....oh well....The color we used looked like white on the paint can, and blue when you 1st paint on the wall....and what is weird is that it looks kinda wisteria/lavender after it's dry...I think I like the color we may use the color for one of our bedroom walls...

So far that is what is new....more to come....

Busy March

Life has been quite busy since we got the house. There are things to buy for the remodeling, and then the worst part is painting the house. We spent three days last weekend to just get a kitchen and a bathroom painted, which means we still have three rooms, dining room, living room, and hallways to paint in the coming weeks. The average working hours at the house is about three hours every night, and yet we didn't really get much done since there are always diff. conditions going on. Anyway....Hopefully I will be able to upload some photos of the finished rooms in the near future....

Here are just some photos of the pastries we had in March. That is so far the only thing I get to enjoy for March....oh and I just took this photo of a tree near sunset while we were driving back to the apt from the house one day....

We usually go to this pastry place in Pasadena every weekend. Recently we didn't have much time to waste so we just bought a box to take home every weekend....

Hades developed this habit of sleeping on my spot at the sofa recently too....I think he misses me a lot since most of the time we have to work on the new house so he rarely sees us at night. He also started to get up to bed to sleep with me in the morning after Billy goes to work...Mintie would later notice she is left alone and get up to the bed to sleep besides Hades too...


So in the morning we usually have a sweet family sleeping time together....and that is about all the photos I took for March....orz....

New Home before it's all fixed...

Well....It's been more than a week after we got the house. Life has been more busy than I would like it to be since few weeks before the house closed. We were busy looking at stuff we need to buy, talking to various workers to see what deals we can get on remodeling, buying materials we need to for the remodeling, in and out of diff. stores....anyway....just tiring....

Our handy man started working on the house on Sat. We are hoping most of his jobs will be done in two weeks, but we will see how that goes....keeping our fingers crossed...What worries me the most is actually the painting part since Billy wanted to do the house painting by himself and I have no idea how long that is gonna take....on top of that....everything we have to do is kinda time related since we have schedule various people to do carpet, flooring, and all other stuff...sighs...

Anyway...since I don't have a lot of time writing things on the blog, here are some photos of the house BEFORE it's fixed...Our yards are looking like a jungles cuz everything is growing like crazy after all those days of rains....but I didn't take photos of those...Here are the photos...

Dining room with a peak view of the kitchen....

The ugly green bathroom which we will get it reglazed....hopefully will look less unpleasant....I think this bathroom needs the most work....tiles, toilets, faucets, relazing...annoying....

Kitchen cabinets are not with very good quality, but then they are not bad either so I guess we will keep them. Will change the sink faucet and then put tiles. We will also have stove and refrigerator installed later....oh and also the stove hood...

Living room with wood panels which makes everything look very dark....will change the wall color and install some lights so everything turns brighter later....

This is the bathroom we will use. We will try to put tiles, toilet, fix the faucets so the whole bathroom will have an antic feeling to it....

I don't know why I took a photo of this room...but that is the room next to the ugly green bathroom....and I guess the other two rooms has nothing special so I didn't bother to take photos...
