V day 2010

It's Valentine's day on Chinese new year this year. We didn't do much to celebrate, but here are photos of what we did with the mild celebration. We went to check out this cafe next to Pasadena play house. I guess it's so far the best coffee I had from all the places we tried, but also very small. I don't really like the atmosphere that much since it reminds me of Mexico too much....We sat upstairs but it was getting kinda crowded so we left after a while....



Here is what we really did for V day....got champagne, opened my V day gift from Billy, and then drank the Champagne.....

Chinese New Year Eve....

Tried this bakery in Pasadena which I was wondering about for the past 2-3 weeks. I have to say it was a pleasing experience, except the environment....oh well...not everything can be perfect in life....

At 1st we got the macaroons and lattes....The flavors of the macaroons were kinda interesting with multiple layers of tastes....

Couldn't resist getting something else to try, so we got the Danish with baked apple....nice....There are so many things to try so I am sure we will go again....

Those were probably made for Valentine's day....colorful....

Last BD dinner for the year 2010

Last Sat we went to Vroman's to try their cafe. The cafe is right next to the bookstore and felt kinda nice even though too many people were there....


For the dinner we went to Roy's to eat with friends....It was a Hawaiian restaurant....

Our last BD celebration dinner was with Jay, his wife Charlene, and Chih-Lin. I am pretty sure we just ate way too much for this whole BD thing, and very glad last Sunday was the last dinner for our BD this year. Here are the photos, and for sure it was a while since I had a meal with them all together....I think last time was around Thanksgiving? Oh well....I guess it's hard to hang out with old friends nowadays....

I guess Hawaii is really influenced by Japanese people???

The Lobster biscuit soup was kinda nice even though it looked ugly....

Baby back ribs I ordered. It was only an appetizer but enough to get me fed even when I shared half with Billy....

Salmon that Chih-Lin ordered. She didn't like it much but then at least the photo turned out to look pretty and nice...lol....

We got this fruit tart thingy with Guava in it. The ice cream was Pistachio flavor. I guess it's all tropical? The Chocolate cake....of course was ordered by Jay....somethings just never change in life....

The restaurant looks kinda cool with the torches. I think that is the only way we remember ever seeing the place every time we passed by. Finally tried it even though not like we really wanted to...It was alright, and this wraps up BD festival for 2010 :)
