I have been reading Job for the past weeks, and I have to say it's really not a very pleasant reading experience. I am up to chapter 38 now and really looking fwd for it to end. Why do I dislike it so much? well....1st of all...I think Job is a bad name...I guess it would not sound as stupid in Hebrew as it is in Eng, but still...I know that is a lame reason....thanks...
I just don't like it cuz everyone in the book is trying to argue the case of Job in ways they think are right....and of course EVERYONE thinks they were right. It just gets annoying to read everything that "seemed" right with all the Christian terminology coming from Job's friends cuz you hear plenty of those teaching in churches today. It gets really confusing and if you listen and read enough of all the Christian sayings, you will not be so sure of what you are doing at the end..
It also gets annoying to watch Job knowing he did nothing wrong at all and yet still got into all those troubles. It would be really lame to just test a person cuz Santan suggested so. It's like...you are purposely tempting your husband/ boy friend with a hottie knowing he will probably not gonna fall into the trap....but heck....what is the point really? Well...I guess God could of know all the outcome ahead of time anyway, but then why would Satan want to try knowing that God would for sure win over the case? or was Satan that dumb he just had to try? right....he probably was THAT dumb anyway...damn the evil really....
Anyway....I don't think reading Job helps my mood at all so I am trying to speed up the whole reading process by reading more each day. Hopefully I will get rid of the book in a day or two...

I think the moral of the job story is that no pain no gain! ;)
Job was the most righteous dude in the whole world at that time and he knows that. He has the BEST relationship with God compared to all the people living at the time... and can that relationship get any better? If the same thing continues, I don't think it can get any better.
This is where Satan comes into the picture. God used this clueless loser in order to help Him and Job to have an even better relationship...
Yes, Satan was tempting Job to give up on God, but God allowed it to happen to test Job... to refine Job and to shape him into a much better person in the end.
Job has learned to be even MORE humble than before. Job's relationship with God also got even better in the end... and of course Job got twice as rich... even the # of children doubled! (10 new ones on earth and 10 in heaven!)
Job's story can be summed up with that one famous verse in Romans... that is: God makes all things work together for the benefit of those who love Him. Everything that happens, whether good or bad, happens for our benefit. Of course if we choose to curse God and die, then naturally we won't reap any benefits... ;) God's promise to benefit us is conditioned upon us loving Him no matter what!
